Sustainable Business Consulting would like to congratulate our clients Lismore Council, Brookfarm, Ferrero and Blacktown Workers Club for winning the Green Globe Awards. The Green Globe Awards are the leading environmental awards in NSW and celebrate environmental excellence, leadership and innovation.

Lismore Council won both the Local Government Sustainability AND the Regional Sustainability Award for their outstanding goal of self-generating 100% of their electricity from renewable sources by 2023. The plan to achieve this is called the ‘Renewable Energy Masterplan’ and SBC is proud to say that we developed the master and action plan, based on lots of engagement with the Council, and with the immense help from Sharyn Hunnisett, who is Council’s Environmental Strategies Officer. The picture on the right shows the two happy recipients of the awards, Theresa Adams and Sharyn Hunnisett from Lismore Council.

Brookfarm won the Premier’s Award for Excellence. A family-owned small business based in Byron Bay, Brookfarm produces gourmet macadamia products for local and export markets. Brookfarm has made sustainability the cornerstone of its farm and bakehouse operations, the company’s branding, growth and business success. SBC is proud to have been part of Brookfarm’s sustainability journey by helping them with their carbon management and establishing the processes to track the environmental resource consumption and waste management over time.

Ferrero Australia is a privately owned global confectionery company, operating in Australia since 1976. Its manufacturing plant in Lithgow produces leading brands Tic Tac and Nutella. Ferrero Australia won the Medium to Large Business Sustainability Green Globes award. We are so pleased to have helped Ferrero with their carbon inventory and mapping the emissions of Ferrero’s supply chain.

Blacktown Workers Club won the award for water efficiency. The club is one of the major businesses in the Blacktown area and a community-based organisation catering for more than 50,000 members. It has also been a leader in water retention and efficiency in the NSW club industry. It was the first club to introduce the Aquacell water-retention technology for irrigating the club’s playing surfaces, reducing reliance on mains water. We have helped the club with their carbon inventory and reduction plan and have had their staff undertake our Energy Management course.

Once again, we would like to congratulate these organisations for their outstanding efforts in progressing sustainability and environmental leadership. What a great pleasure it is to be allowed to help such amazing organisations with their sustainability needs!
