The uptake of EUAs is slower than expected

Interesting article in the SMH about the uptake of Environmental Upgrade Agreements. EUAs remove the split incentive barrier between the building owner and the tenant. Even though the business case for EUAs is so strong it is taking a long time for them to gain a foothold in the market. It seems that another barrier needs to be removed – the information barrier. Awareness levels with building owners and tenants need to be raised and a clear path for the necessary steps needs to be shown.
