Barbara AlbertBarbara Albert: Managing Director and Principal Consultant

Barbara is a thought leader in energy strategy, climate change adaptation, and carbon management. She is a director at Sustainable Business Consulting, with over 17 years experience across a wide range of sectors. She is a sought-after workshop facilitator and speaker, and the author of several sustainability booklets. Recent projects she has managed include developing the energy strategy and action plan for Lismore and Coffs Harbour City Councils to become 100% renewable, as well as helping a major food manufacturer with identifying and reducing their strategic and operational climate change risks.

Barbara has a long-standing history of working with the NSW Government and has been a preferred provider for the OEH since 2010. She is on the panel of experts for DRET to provide Business Services in energy efficiency.

Barbara holds a Masters degree in Commerce from the University for Business Administration and Economics in Vienna, Austria. She also studied at Stern, New York University. She is certified in GRI sustainability reporting and holds several Cert IVs in Carbon Management, TAA, TAE, as well as in Environmental Management and Sustainability.

Lars Lohmann: Senior Consultant

Lars is a senior consultant with over 20 years career experience in the consumer goods, publishing and financial sectors. He has set-up multi-million dollar businesses in Australia, New Zealand and the USA and has a successful track record of pioneering innovative technologies and business concepts. He combines his specialist skills in strategic business development, transformation and change management with carbon management and business sustainability. He is teaching the Cert IV in Carbon Management, Energy Management Basics, Energy Efficient HVAC, and a two day short course in Applied Energy Efficiency.

Lars holds a Masters in Business Administration from IESE (Instituto de Estudios Superiores de la Empresa) in Barcelona, Spain. He also holds a Certificate IV in Carbon Management, Project Management and Training and Assessment.

Recent projects he has worked on include the implementation of carbon and energy management at Warrigal Aged Care, Crescent Head Country Club, North Haven Bowling Club, Dubbo RSL, South West Sydney Institute, and Community Mutual. He also worked on developing behavioural based carbon reduction for one of Sustainable Business Consulting’s clients. He has been a major contributor to the following two courses that were developed for the NSW government by Sustainable Business Consulting: ‘Energy Management Basics’ and ‘Energy Efficient HVAC for Business’, which are tremendously successful courses. He has also managed and delivered content for the Energy Efficiency short course for CTI. He is working on the NCOS submission of the first Australian club ever to become carbon neutral, and developed methodologies for calculating supply chain emissions for another Sustainable Business Consulting client

Technical expert

Patrick provides specialist consulting services to Government, utilities and business on a range of issues, including:

  • Energy efficiency policy and programs – strategic advice and analysis
  • Demand management – policy and regulatory analysis, technical reviews, customer engagement
  • Technical expertise – energy assessments, opportunities analysis, business case development, verification
  • Grants and incentives – secure funding for EE programs through upfront grants and efficiency / carbon credits
  • Carbon abatement – strategic planning, abatement cost curves, engagement Energy performance contracting – facilitation, review and contract negotiation, M&V

Patrick has extensive experience in the conduct of energy audits in compliance with the Australian & New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 3598:2000. Patrick has delivered numerous energy audits in both the commercial and industrial sectors.

Maartje Sevenster: LCA expert

Maartje has been active as a life-cycle management consultant for more than a decade. She has supported a wide range of industries in developing better understanding of and implementing life-cycle thinking in their business strategies. She conducted policy support studies for a number of European Government departments, as well as NGOs, and was a long-term consultant working on the Dutch Industry-Government Covenant on Life-Cycle Energy Efficiency.

She has in-depth knowledge of environmental impacts, especially those associated with climate change and land use, land productivity and degradation, using Ecological Foot Printing and other methods for measuring and monitoring. Maartje is a preferred supplier for Supply Chain Management in the NSW Sustainability Advantage program and on the Waste & Resource Recovery Consultancy Panel of Sustainability Victoria. She is Secretary of the Australian LCA society (ALCAS).

Neil GlozierNeil Glozier: Solar design and specifications expert

Neil is helping SBC with solar system designs and specifications to make sure that the systems are tailored to our clients’ unique requirements. His key areas of expertise are solar product knowledge, commercial scale solar photovoltaic system design and creating site specific business cases for solar PV.
